Stop Pushing Yourself to the Brink

It’s a sad truth that we live in a society that glamourizes stress.– Lisa Martin

If you’re insanely busy, it must mean you’re important, talented and in demand. Right?
No. Just no.

If you’re insanely busy as a manner of course, bad things will transpire. Your body will breakdown, your mind won’t function well, you’ll discover your emotional breakpoint.

Working yourself to the bone can lead to depression, insomnia and a host of other serious health problems.

And what it’s all for? It’s based on false assumption that you’re more valuable to society, your family and your employer if you sustain the busiest, craziest pace you possibly can.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen this destructive behavior – literally too many times to count. And every time I say the same thing:

[Tweet “You at your busiest is not you at your best.”]

Busy doesn’t equal excellent. It doesn’t equal fulfillment, satisfaction or optimal achievement.

Pushing yourself to the brink will spell disaster at home, work and everywhere else you find yourself. So stop kidding yourself. Start honoring your body, mind and spirit. You may be shocked to discover you actually get more done, and that you can operate at a higher caliber.
