New Year – New Life Theme

Hello everyone and welcome to 2014.  I’ve not been blogging for a few weeks and I’ve missed you.

Of course taking some time with family and friends over the holiday season has kept me from writing to you.  But I’ve also been busy creating new material for you so you can make your 2014 a happy and prosperous year. Before I say more about that…first let’s talk about your life theme for 2014.

Ever since I began leadership coaching (about 15 years ago) I’ve asked my clients to choose a life theme for the coming year. I’m going to ask you to do the same.

Over the years my clients have picked all manner of life themes including ‘creating community’, ‘power’, ‘dialing back’, ‘authentic passion’ and ‘calm and quiet’.

What is a life theme, you may be asking right now. Your theme is your big picture focus for the year ahead. I like to think of it as a personal mission statement.

Life themes work. They connect all of your intentions into a single word for phrase. The simplicity of this is potent. It allows you to focus your priorities and actions.
When a new idea or opportunity arises you can say to yourself, ‘Does this align with my life theme?’ And then it’s your choice how you respond.

I’ve personally found that continually making choices that align with my annual theme keeps me on track. I tend to have a more meaningful, purposeful year that brings me to my intended life destination.

This year my life theme is ‘abundance’.  I wish to continually practice gratitude for all that I have in my life now and make the space to allow more of what matters most to me to flow into my life.  To me ‘abundance’ means creating the time and space to focus on personal and family pursuits, and achieving some big business milestones.

What’s your 2014 life theme?

Now back to the part about me supporting you to make 2014 the year you desire it to be.  In a couple of weeks (technology willing) I will be launching my new website which will feature some terrific tools and resources to support you to thrive as a leader and in life.

I’m excited to offer 5 programs and 4 new books to help you lead and live better. These are derived from my work with thousands of leaders from across North America over the past 15 years.  They are designed to help rising leaders find personal fulfillment and leadership success.

Here’s a preview:

Stay tuned — I’ll have  a special gift for my blog readers when my new site launches in mid-January.

Here’s to a spectacular 2014, Lisa.
